Hi Schube, I tried posting 2 times yesterday with my ipad but I don't know where the posts went. Hopefully this will get thru. Just wanted to let you know that everyone seems to be enjoying the group lessons. It's wonderful to get feedback, not only from Willie, but from other students as well. Learning piano can be a lonesome thing. Not like violin or other instruments where you learn in a group. So having this connection with everyone has been great. Personally, it motivates me to practice more. Also it's been great seeing the videos of others play - it gives me ideas and goals to work on. Willie has the lessons set up so that all levels of players can benefit. I definitely recommend the lessons.

Thanks for the update Donna, we're all curious. Well, at least those not in the course. Glad to hear things are going smoothly.

An update on the courses, I WILL be offering the cocktail piano course again once this current 'semester' is done. So, Cocktail Piano 101 will be offered again sometime in June. That is the plan right now.

We will also offer a new course on either Blues improvisation or improvisation in general. Still need to decide.

Do you guys have any preference? Blues or Jazz improv?

Either would get me in, but my first preference would be Jazz.

I agree with Mark. I would do either but I would like jazz improv especially if you plan on dealing with comping with the LH.

Has anyone heard any news about new courses being offered? I never heard anything about Cocktail Piano 101 in June. It would really help me a lot if I knew the schedule so that I could plan my own fall semester schedule around any upcoming courses. Any info would be appreciated.

Wanted to give you guys an update. I will be sitting down today to work out the syllabus for the new CoursesWithWillie.com Fall courses. The courses will be available for purchase the last week of September, with them beginning first week of October.

I am working to get the courses into the new member's area. This means that courses students will have a chance to see the new member's area and have a more integrated learning experience.

I will lay out early next week the courses, who they will be for , how much they will cost and how to signup.

Default Jazz improv

I'm in for the intermediate jazz improv. Interested in learning the left hand comping and techniques for creating lines in tunes. It's that left hand I find so difficult. If it were just the right hand, it would be a snap! The Carmen McRae sings Monk CD has a fabulous piano player on it and he improvises up a storm. It's terrific to listen to. -Wanda
