All excellent posts! I'll be busy for years

O.K. let me digest the ideas and try to come up with some new lesson plans.

Willie - I'm really excited about your ideas and really they're 'just what the Dr ordered'. for instance, I finally got 'round to listening to a radio show, and was completely blown away by the treatment of scales, chords, as you unfolded am blues ( I think it was 4/18/09). I even transcribed as you spoke, but got a little lost along the way..and you briefly mentioned a lesson that covered it. so, I thought I'd go in and get the PDF to check my transcription against, but I'm not sure I could easily locate it. yes, there is as tremendous amount of information that, for me, needs to be digested rather slowly. and I get distracted by the wonderful assortment, sometimes before I finish my first choice. so anything that will help me stay on track and find my way would help. how about 'tags' to search by?
By the way, I think one of the most exciting things about your website is your live demonstration as you go along. there is simply no substitution. I plan to be a student for a very long time. I've been playing for years, and this is just the spark I need to keep expanding...I don't know if you're religious or not (but you do a lot of hymns -- BUT this is turning out to be an answer to prayer for me. and you're style is so approachable that I find myself saying, "If he can do it, I can do it" Now, I don't know if that applies to climbing Mt Katadin, although I have hiked Mt Washington and the Osgood Ridge too.

Thanks mkoplin!

There is a new member area coming in a few weeks that will have much more robust features like tags, etc... So, stay tuned...it will make it easier to navigate and use the site ;-)

Hey Willie, great idea. It would be very nice to have a better idea of where to start this journey. And by the way thanks for such a good service!

Default theory

i now tend to work through all the theory lessons first which i think is the best way to progress.

It is very helpful to go through the theory lessons, but sometimes I find myself just wanting to watch one after the other for the "mental" part, and skipping the "practice" part.

That's why I'm picking one repertoire lesson and making myself go through that, I'm starting with Stella by Starlight.

I tend to have a hard time sticking with one lesson, watch a few chapters on one and then am drawn to another interesting looking lesson.
