course DVD100 Jazz & Blues, page 10

modulation

I am playing in the key of C on the page 10, if I would like to modulate to another key smoothly, how do I do that please?

I've heard peolpe talk about V7 chord and press 3 chords to jump to the new key but I don't really understand how to do it?

In page 10, key of C, the last 4 chord is G7, F7, C7, G7, how do I use the last chord G7 to jump to another key smoothly or which chord instead G7 and jump to another key?

Could you please explain the below:

1. key of C modulation to key of A
2. key of C modulation to key of G

Is there a course specifically teach this?

thanks!!!

Hey Buffy, I DO need to do a modulation course. I have gotten asked to do this before.

Basically, you can usually precede the tonic of a new key with its V7 chord. However, sometimes this is too strong of a resolution, too quick.

I will do a lesson on Modulation in May. Post again if you don't hear more about it.
