View Full Version : Digital Piano Selection
I am in the process of selecting a new digital piano for use in my home. I wish for it to be a pleasing piece of furniture as well as a musical instrument. I now own a Roland HP101 and am interested in something more suitable for the Jazz Genre. I do not wish to spend more than $4000 and would prefer staying under $3000. I have looked at the Yamaha CLP-230 and like the sound on it pretty much. The particular one I played seemed to lose quality tones in the highest 1-2 octaves but below that it was great. I am just wondering if any of you have had any experience that might benefit me in my search.
Thanks.

I recently purchased a Yamaha CP 300. I love the piano sound, its easy to use and has a great feel. The cost was around $2500

I was looking for something that is more like a piece of furniture but after checking it out on-line I might reconsider. It gets very high marks for sound. Did you buy it on-line or at a local store ?
I am a little hesitant to buy something like this on-line but maybe if you were successful I might consider it.
Thanks.

I bought mine at my local Sam Ash store, I spent allot of time checking out all the digital pianos before I purchased the CP 300. I was looking for the best piano sound and in my option the CP 300 was by far the best. Yea you give up the furniture look for the sound but I was looking just for Sound. I have a Yamaha acoustical upright. (hardly ever play it)

Well, thanks for the information. I will certainly give it a look.
Well, I just ordered the CP300 today so .... please, no-one give me any other suggestions. I want to believe I made the right decision with no other options to muddy the waters. LOL .... I am sure I will like it. I spoke with other players and they assured me I was doing the right thing.
