Willie,

In your Misty Harmonic analysis, you replaced the second phrase Eb Maj leading into the Cm7 with a G7 in to the Cm7. I think in the video you said this was a V - ii reasoning.
I understand the ii-V, but is there also the reverse progression of V -ii?

EXCELLENT presentation on Misty - for all audiences. I especially like the Improv ideas on how to do runs and fills.

kind of.

This is Dominant motion. Whenever you have a dominant chord resolving down a Perfect 5th...this is dominant motion.

You can "anticipate" dominant motion by looking ahead and finding a dom7 chord that can go "in front" of a target chord.

So, you are looking at your music...you see a G-7. The melody not is an 'A'. you could precede that G-7 with it's "related" V7 chord which would be D7.

The 'A' melody note is important because you want to make sure that the dominant chord that you are putting in there works well with the melody.
