Losing my place

Anyone else have trouble losing your place when improvsing? It's probably my biggest hurdle when it come to improv (unfortunately not my only one). Any hints, practice techniques, etc., for this? Obviously, count and use your ear but that's easier said than done.

Same problem here :) I think one of my problems is that I try to do to much and that's when I lose my place. And when I start a lick/line it kinda doesn't fit to the chord change and I end up doing an extra bar or 2 in same chord.
