Just got the Roland FP7F which is fantastic. very happy with it.

Great action and sound, and lots of cool features. Cost me about double what I paid for the YPG 635 which I sold.

One very nice thing is that I can put my 10" netbook on the music stand and watch lessons. I was thinking of getting the Ipad for lessons, but not necessary! I already have a netbook, laptop, Kindle and Droid smartphone so i was pretty reluctant to get the Ipad.

Spannfan, you inspired me to get a Toshiba Netbook which i just brought home from Bestbuy (10" screen also). I already love it. My dear husband macgivered the netbook onto the piano so that I can manage it and the piano keys while dealing with limited reach because of the rheumatoid arthritis in my elbows and wrists. So thanks for the forum post about your netbook arrangement. Regards, Lonnie

You're welcome Lonnie! Always happy to give another woman an excuse to shop! :)

Boy, do you have my shopping number!!!

Would also love for you to share any tips you have found/find using the netbook being so close to your piano (using keyboard shortcuts or other new menu options in the new 3.0 Member site). Before the netbook on my piano, I used to have to do the head swivel around to my desktop computer behind me -- the way my room is laid out...so if you find some keyboard tips that you find useful, I would enjoy hearing.

Okay, Lonnie. Right, now I haven't been putting the netbook on the piano for practice yet because I'm too slow at what I'm learning. My set up is that I have my netbook desk and my piano side by side on one end of the living room (facing the TV :)) with my back to a wall. So I can watch a lesson or part of a lesson and just move over to the piano to practice.

As soon as I get faster at what I'm working on though I'll try playing with the lesson and let you know what helps me.

And you likewise!
