Thanks, Willie, for putting up the beginning lessons of Wade in the Water.

There are some great versions of this song out there. The first I remember hearing was when I was a kid. My dad (who was nearly 100% classical music) had an album by the Golden Chariot Quartet, an a capella black gospel group, and there was a killer version of this song on the album...slow and dark.

Here's another one by my favorite jazz vocalist/guitarist, Eva Cassidy.

Sadly, she died of melanoma in her 30's. If you haven't discovered her, she's a beautiful, stunningly gifted musician. She could sing anything.
