Hi all,
In case anyone doesn't know about this, but would like to, you should check out the Craig Charles Funk and Soul show on BBC Radio 6. Craig Charles is famous for being the main character, Lister, in the classic BBC TV comedy/sci-fi show Red Dwarf.
It's on Sunday, GMT/BST, 7pm till 10pm, and is just a brilliant and eclectic mix, from the classics, to modern F&S bands, to playing brand new (i.e. bedroom) stuff. CC is just so ... enthusiastic ... boyish ... in his glee and love for all things F&S. I mean, I detest DJs, mostly, loathe them with a passion - opinionated air-heads who drone on over the music. Not CC, I even really enjoy listening to his interviews. If you're outside of the UK, or want the archive, mixriot.com
I know I sound like an advert, I'm not - just a person. It's just if you want to expand your horizons, not just listening to your favourite tracks over and over, no matter how amazing they are, well, that's where a quality DJ comes in. And he does. Three hours of it. Week in and week out.
And I'd be interested to hear of anything else like it. Any other really good Funk shows out there at the moment?
