I find the song "Chameleon" by Herbie Hancock to be a FANTASTIC two hand bass/chord/improv jam to practice on the keyboard with. Check out this video of Herbie Hancock performing Chameleon live in Chicago '74. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcjkA5ZAWQo

He plays the main bass line with the left hand on one keyboard and the funky rhythm with the right on another set of keys. This two hand coordination and groove is great and found it to be quite fun to practice with not to mention to shake your body with...laugh. Check out Herbie groovin' to his own jam there. He gets those shoulders moving.

If anybody knows of any other good grooves with a catchy bass line please post.

Thanks and enjoy!

Jim

Cool, I'll add it to the list.

At :28 that other groove that comes in is the guitar. You can only barely make out what Herbie is doing besides his LH. But, I'll put together a groove with that bass line and some other funky RH stuff.

LOL. He's not moving his shoulders, he's gyrating/thrusting his hips - the shoulders are following. Check out 1:40 to 1:55 to see what I mean. ;-)
