Hi Willie,

In looking through all of the lessons, is there a lesson that discusses the 7 modes of the major scale?

In looking at these modes, it appears that I could use any of these particular scales in a major key? So, Fly me to the Moon would work with any of these modes?

Are we basing these modes on each of the chords in Fly me to the Moon, or the actual key signature? Because...when I get to the G7 chord in fly me to the moon would I apply a mode based on G7 or the actual key that I'm in (CMaj)?

Thanks,
Rob

Hey Rob, April's lesson will be on scales and application to chords, so I'll be able to explain it better there.

The modes are based from the scale. As long as the chords are diatonic, you can use the major scale. The mode is just a way of thinking of that scale from point A to B.

Like I said, I'll be able to explain it better with video so hang tight.

Hi Willie,

Thanks! No worries...I'll look forward to that addition in April. I think I was trying to force too much theory upon me...I need to think in terms of baby steps! :)
