Hi Willie,
I was wondering if you ever got together with the group to record the Stable Funk Composition for October's Lesson in the Studio. This was mentioned in your introduction for the lesson month. I was looking around for that and didn't see it. Perhaps it's not released yet, or canceled perhaps?
Thanks!
Jim

I will have those videos up hopefully tomorrow Jim.
There is about 20 minutes of us in the studio working out and performing the song.

Awesome Willie! No hurry though, I just wasn't sure if I was looking in the right place or not. I recently switched to Gold Member status and the menus for each section are slightly different, but I now understand everything. I've been working on this Funk lesson a great deal and I must say it's incredibly useful. Although I really like the Jazz Lessons, I am finding your Funk lessons to be the most useful for me on my gigs and in practice lately.
For everyone who enjoys the Jazz lessons, I can't recommend the Funk lessons highly enough. They compliment well the Jazz lessons and more. The Funk lessons also seriously get you up and jamming like a pro on the keys right away.
Thanks again,
Jim

Thanks Jim!
If you don't mind, I would like to use that post as a testimonial for the new site. Is that ok?
Today is the day for the Stable vids. There are 3 I believe that are going up.

Hi Willie!
WOW! What a great set of "Live" videos you just posted. The timing was actually perfect for me because I had pretty much finished the main videos which got me to a point where I could jam on the backing track you posted. I'm not playing note for note, but rather got myself to a point where I could understand the chord structure and put my own melody to it. As I progressed through the song though I developed some questions that were totally answered by the live "trio" videos you posted. There were a couple of bits and pieces where I was wondering how you were going to transition from one point to another and the band videos really were extremely helpful. They helped me to "fill in" some blanks so to speak. Thank you!
One point you mentioned that I must say worked perfectly for me was the fact that you created a song that could be broken up into individual song pieces or jam performances. Not only have I thoroughly enjoyed the song as a whole, but I have also enjoyed "fiddling" around with various chord sections within the song and creating alternate grooves.
Finally, you are more than welcome to post or highlight any of my comments made in this or previous posts. If you require a specific testimonial about something, please feel free to email me and I'd be more than happy to write something. I am a very strong believer in your program and with over a year now as a member I can definitely say I've been extremely satisfied with your instruction and my progress. One does have to put in the hard work and practice to get results though, but the information you provide is key to making that practice useful and rewarding.
Thank you for the exceptional "Stable Funk Composition" series. Funk enthusiasts really should work through that set for sure. It's fantastic!!
Best regards,
Jim Atwood

I agree with ricoche. the Stable funk lesson is awesome!! I really dig the licks with the G- C7 bass lines. That is the sound in my head Ive been trying to get to come out in my playing. The jam session with Thomas and Vinny is great. When is the CD coming out.? Thanks again Willie. for taking my piano skills to the next level and opening up a new world for me.
