I've been listening to some jazz recordings latley and some of the comping going on. I often hear a lot of chord movement used, and some of it would propably hold on it's own being played solo.
I'm wondering if you have any tips to make comping more intersting, or point me to one of the lessons for tips and tricks?
Sometimes I think I hear a I-IV movement? Say you're on a G chord, and then you go to it's IV chord and back, and then when you move to a C you do C-F-C etc. Maybe a II-V-I during 1 bar?
I've just started to watch the Quartals and Pentatonic lesson, and was thinking maybe moving those Quartal chords around is something that's used to get some movement in your comping?
