Hello Willie,

I'd love some more bluesy songs, for example like "Don't know why" from Norah Jones.

By the way, really cool from you to add one lesson on each site each month...

Thierry

Thanks Thierry,

The new lesson each month will be a nice for students of each site to make continuous progress throughout the month. It will also be easier to know exactly when new lessons will make their appearance.

As far as the Norah Jones tune, this would be perfect for our upcoming series RockPianoLessons.com. I will keep this on the list for you.

Hi

"Peace Piece" by Bill Evans. Beatiful song but not tricky?

Hi Willie
Delighted to hear about the planned Rock Piano site. How about Don MacLean's American Pie for that. Would love to be able to play the tasty piano accompaniment - a few nice licks and voicings. Also, could you consider a series of lessons which give insights into the characteristics of the styles associated with some of the really influential exponents e.g. Leon Russell, Bill Paine (Little Feat), Elton John, Richard Tee etc.
If these suggestions are not workable I am still of the view that you have developed a fantastic, maybe unique, service which I hope to use for years to come. Hope you are gonna stick around!!

Hi Willie,
La comparsa by Ernesto Lecuona would be wonderful as a latin piano lesson.

Funk Suggestion

How about a "Compose a Groove" Part 2. The first "Composing A Groove" Lesson was FANTASTIC! I've been jamming on that material for over a month now and it's just opened so many doors on my Funk playing. For Part 2 it would be great to see you either expand or simply add a few "Progressions" that we can work from using the concepts from "Composing A Groove".

My favorite parts were "Part 3 - Triad Passing Chords" and "Part 6 - Create the Bridge". Both parts blew me away and I would love to possibly see you expand on the Bridge section. I am still a little shy about how to approach going off on a tangent and creating a bridge like you did. It's very easy to get stuck in a two or three chord groove back and forth. Your Bridge idea beautifully gave the groove a welcome punch. Thus more "bridge" work might be fun.

Thanks very much!

Regards, Jim

great suggestions.

Someone suggested a contemporary version of Blessed Assurance for the JazzGospelPiano.com site.

I enjoy working with Jazz and Funk quite a bit which is obviously why I subscribe to both those areas, however, I am also a huge fan of "Smooth Jazz". I understand this genre incorporates both Jazz and Funk elements. I think it would be great to have a lesson on what "key ingredients" go into most Smooth Jazz grooves. For example, what are some common chord types, scales, or approaches that are geared more towards Smooth Jazz? What's interesting is that the more I work with the Funk material here, I feel like I am picking stuff out better when listening to Smooth Jazz. When I listed to the Jazz material, it's more difficult. Not sure if that is an accurate assumption or not. In any event, hearing about your experience, observations, and thoughts on Smooth Jazz would be awesome. Thank you!

rbeirn suggested:

Fills, turnarounds and endings DVD.

Doing them in different styles.

Thought process on how to come up with the above.

Any thoughts? Would others like this??

OK there was a suggestion in Gospel Jazz for a lesson on modulation. Just adding here to keep it together.

I also think a modulation lesson would be helpful.

Also I'd like to request a slow minor jazz piece like "Cry Me a River" not just for solo piano but for accompaniment or playing in an ensemble.
